Activity Overview

A VICTORIAN paddling pool on one of Portishead's beaches could be brought back to life. The stone pool, which dates back to the 1800s, is at Sugar Loaf bay, just up from the sailing club.

Historical reports show that the pool was used in the 1860s by local children using it as a place to cool off in the summer. The pool is filled up from the tide and used to have a concrete bung in the side to help maintain the water level.
